Christopher Morse

Biography

Chris graduated in the Spring of 2021, majoring in Computer Science. He is interested in the intersection of machine learning, computer vision, and robotics. His research looked into the synthetic data generation and semantic segmentation of underwater imagery, diver face detection, and detection-driven image enhancement. He is heading to the University of Virginia to pursue doctoral studies.

Tanmay Agarwal

Biography

Tanmay majored in Computer Science at the University of Minnesota. His primary research interests are in robot perception. He is worked on predicting diver motion to improve diver following by robots underwater. In the past, he worked with the Cryogenic Dark Matter Search (CDMS) group in the Department of Physics to create a neutron shield for the group's dark matter detector. He joined Sentera after graduating from the UoM in the Spring of 2021.

Biography

Muntaqim is a junior majoring in Computer Science, and his primary interests are in Robotics and Software Engineering. In this, he has been working on the problems of  Robot Communication via Motion and the Semantics Segmentation of Underwater Imagery.

Emma Peterson

Biography

Emma graduated from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, at the end of Spring 2020, double-majoring in Computer Science and Mathematics, and with a minor in Astrophysics. Her primary interests in these fields are robotics and abstract algebra, respectively. Emma worked on integrating a realistic simulation of the Aqua robot in Unreal Engine with virtual reality. Her next destination: pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Chicago in Fall 2020.

Kimberly Barthelemy

Biography

Kim majored in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics at the University of Minnesota with a minor in Computer Science. She is interested in control and vision system mechanics, and worked with the lab on fault detection and diagnosis as they apply to underwater robotics. Her honors thesis investigated autopilot control system for the LoCO vehicle. She started full-time work at Collins Aerospace in Spring 2021.

Biography

Kevin graduated from Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics and with a minor in Computer Science.  Through coursework and research, he is working on specializing in control systems and robotic automation.  His research and honors thesis looked at the development of dynamics for the LoCO robot. He started full-time work at Collins Aerospace in Spring 2021.

Andrea Walker

Biography

Andrea completed her Master's in CS, coming from a background in computational Physics, in Spring 2021. This experience paved the way for her interest in robotic perception. Accordingly, the focus of her Master's was applying Computer Vision and Machine Learning to tackle perception challenges within the domain of underwater Human-Robot Interaction (HRI), particularly in the detection of diver's pointing gestures. She joined Honeywell Autonomous Vehicles Division soon after her graduation.

Santhosh Alladi

Biography

Santhosh received his Master's from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, working on designing deep learning algorithms to diagnose different heart conditions based on ECG data. His thesis focused on exploring various methods to enlarge the existing ECG dataset by synthesizing data using deep generative techniques.

Pallavi Mitra

Biography

Pallavi defended her Master's thesis under the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in June 2020. Her interests are in Computer Vision and Deep Learning with applications in Multi-View Geometry and Stereo Vision. Her thesis focused on enhancing monocular depth estimation using Generative Adversarial Networks. She joins Sentera as a Computer Vision Engineer in August 2020.
